UPS Backup uses a lot of electricity when charging the battery but only when doing so when the battery is finished charging and there is no load shedding, whereby the accessories one has only use the power stored up on the battery.

When a normal power supply fails, and one doesn’t have a backup generator that kicks in immediately, he/she may end up losing unsaved work e.g., in a computer, UPS allows the continuation of work for a while to enable someone save his/her work.

Different UPS Backup last depending on the volts-amp or wattage of the unit, they may last for about two to five and half hours. They are marketed depending on volts-amps mostly, but one would need to choose according to his/her requirement e.g., the computer power is low or UPS Backup is large in capacity.

The cost and your requirement are a factor to consider, e.g. An Amazon Basics 600VA would cost $60 which has a run time of four hours, or cyberpower 600VA that Cost $70 and has a run time of Five and a Half hours, the more the price at some cases the more the hours.
